Product Review: WEBCEO SEO Software

If you are promoting your firm online, it is good to be familiar with some of the tools available to you to optimize your online presence and increase your traffic. About two years ago, I purchased WEB CEO, and it was one of the best investments that I made in my online marketing program. In a nutshell, this software allows you to see “behind the scenes” how your site is indexed in the major search engines, and provides features that allow you to create your pages and improve your ranking. What I like most about WebCEO is that it provides me real-time marketing intelligence that enables me to make timely decisions to maintain my firm’s competitive advantage in my practice area and local community.

This is the same software used by many web-marketing companies to sell their advertising services.

For instance, as a business lawyer, I would like to know how my firm ranks in my local community among the major search engines (Google, Yahoo, and Bing). If I had only one key phase and one city, I could do a quick search on all three and find out. However, in my case, I have 30-40 cities that I serve and 20 or more key phrases (i.e. business lawyer in Coral Springs, FL). It would be very time consuming to run 800 different searches.

WEB CEO solves that problem.

The Site Ranking feature of the site allows you to program these searches into one command, and in a few minutes you will have a report that shows whether your site appeared in the top 10, 20, or 30 results in each search engine. Even better, you can find out which of your competitors are ranking better than you.

Another of my favorite features on the site is the ability to know which pages of the site are indexed in the major search engines. I use this feature periodically to see if new pages were added to the search engines and if a page no longer appears which appeared previously. WebCeo gives you historical data on your site’s performance from the last report. Would you like to improve your rankings in the search engines? WebCeo has an entire module dedicated to SEO and updates their software frequently to ensure that you have the most current information on the popularity of key phrases as you select the terms for your pages.

The software is not complex but you have to spend the time learning how to use it and become proficient with it. Unless you are an SEO professional, it is unlikely that you will use all the features. However, if you are directly involved in online marketing, you should consider adding WEBCEO to your arsenal of marketing tools to improve your business.

  1. Rich,

What’s Web CEO Seo’s pricing model?

I prefer Raven Tools, SEOmoz’s Web App and Caphyon’s Advanced Web Ranking (pluses and minuses to each depending on needs).

    Hi Gyi,

Thanks for your comment. WebCEO has an online version for $49 per month. I purchased the software for $495 and there is a fee for quarterly updates. I am not familiar with Raven Tools and the other applications; however, from looking at them they seem pretty good as well.

  3. Thanks for the review. Web CEO Online also has a $99 per month Pro Plan where every active project is also $2 per month and every 1000 rank checks is $4. This can be a great buy for companies that deal with 20-150 projects (campaigns) but don’t want to spend more than $500 per month doing that. The domain webceo.com now highlights the online tools while webseo.com highlights the desktop tools. Both of these home pages connect with each other.

One would use cloud-based SEO tools when you wish to collaborate with people around the world (or around the block) while working on projects. All you have to do is stipulate email addresses and anyone who signs onto a free account with those email addresses will automatically have full access to the specific projects you want them to access.

  4. Interesting ideas Rich. Thanks for the insights.
